financial services organization in south Australia, switched to a hybrid

Artificial Intelligence Welcomed, But Human-Centered IT Support Is Key To Employee Satisfaction And Productivity
A global survey of employees reveals 74% think inefficient IT support affects morale and hinders productivity, while 87% welcome adoption of AI in resolving IT issues with minimal disruption
Nine in ten employees (87%) recognize that AI has a positive role to play in helping them stay productive, while eight in ten (81%) prefer a blend of AI and human interaction, according to Lenovo.
The new global study1 reveals that a majority of 12,000 employees surveyed (91%) believe they would be more productive if their IT issues at work were resolved quickly and effectively. Another 74% say poor IT support has decreased their motivation at work. Results show an efficient and effective IT support system needs to be in place to power today's hybrid workforce.

Increasing Access To Education For People With Disabilities
Around the world 2.2 billion people have a form of vision disability according to WHO. As disabilities affect people of all ages, it's critical that education is accessible to all and ensures equitable access to children and adults alike.
However, the reality is there are currently barriers in education for those who are blind or have low vision, including the lack of accessible textbooks and classroom materials. This is what is commonly referred to as a 'book famine' in the print disabled community.
Founded initially as self-advocacy group for people who are blind or low vision with an interest in STEM, I-Stem aims to enhance access to this otherwise inaccessible content for people with print disabilities. Through their past experience having experienced the challenges first-hand as blind co-founders, coupled with their experience in engineering and AI, the team uses AI to address this barrier faced by their community. Through support from Microsoft's AI for Accessibility grant program, I-Stem technology utilizes Microsoft's Azure which helps to recognize inaccessible text and extract it for further processing. This then is processed with custom models that help identify the layout and structure of the document, thereby retaining the formatting and semantic representation of the document.

Ruler SSDs Rule Supermicro Petascale Servers
Supermicro has launched PCIe gen 5 storage servers in 1RU and 2RU form factors supporting 16, 24 or 32 NVMe SSDs and up to a petabyte of capacity, with a 16-bay system coming first.
The systems are powered by either Intel dual Sapphire Rapids Gen 4 Xeons or gen 4 AMD EPYC processors. The SSDs come in either the E3.S or E1.S formats. These are short and long ruler standards in the EDSFF (Enterprise and Data centre SSD Form Factor) scheme, with varying length, depth and width measurements.
Supermicro CEO and president Charles Liang said: 'With up to a petabyte of storage in a standard rackmount system, users can quickly access tremendous amounts of data at their fingertips. The new storage system is compact and energy efficient and will give our users the lowest latency and highest bandwidth in the industry.'
