Oracle Corp and Microsoft Corp today announced Oracle Database@Azure, which gives customers direct access to Oracle database services running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and deployed in Microsoft Azure datacenters.
Oracle Database@Azure delivers all the performance, scale, and workload availability advantages of Oracle Database on OCI with the security, flexibility, and best-in-class services of Microsoft Azure, including best-in-class AI services like Azure OpenAI. This combination provides customers with more flexibility regarding where they run their workloads. It also provides a streamlined environment that simplifies cloud purchasing and management between Oracle Database and Azure services.
Oracle Corporation (NYSE: ORCL) announced fiscal 2024 Q1 results. Total quarterly revenues were up 9% year-over-year in USD and up 8% in constant currency to $12.5 billion. Cloud services and license support revenues were up 13% in USD and up 12% in constant currency to $9.5 billion. Cloud license and on-premise license revenues were down 10% in USD and down 11% in constant currency to $0.8 billion.
Q1 GAAP operating income was $3.3 billion. Non-GAAP operating income was $5.1 billion, up 13% in USD and up 12% in constant currency. GAAP operating margin was 26%, and non-GAAP operating margin was 41%. GAAP net income was $2.4 billion. Non-GAAP net income was $3.4 billion, up 19% in USD and up 17% in constant currency. Q1 GAAP earnings per share was $0.86 while non-GAAP earnings per share was $1.19, up 16% in USD and up 14% in constant currency.
Short-term deferred revenues were $11.1 billion. Q1 operating cash flow was $7.0 billion, up 9%, and Q1 free cash flow was $5.7 billion, up 21%.

Expanding its use of the EHR will enable REHAB to have more accurate insights into patients' care history
REHAB Hospital of the Pacific (REHAB), the only comprehensive medical rehabilitation hospital in Hawaii, is adding modules of the Oracle Health electronic health record (EHR) to all of its facilities. The modules are specific to the needs of rehabilitation facilities and is intended to support REHAB's main 82-bed campus, three outpatient clinics, and a hospital-based physicians' clinic to help treat patients with physical and cognitive disabilities including stroke and spinal cord injuries. Rehabilitation facilities are challenged with navigating limited access to data between venues and connecting care teams. Adding the EHR across the system will help deliver a more accurate clinical picture during the inpatient admission process, as well as during outpatient rehabilitation visits by providing access to both historical care data and outside medical records.
